NCAA Tournament Rules

1.      Pool money is divided 70% for first, 20% for second and 10% for third

2.      Pick 16 teams, 1 per seed.  Also pick a tiebreaker team and the point spread for championship game.

3.      Each time one of your teams wins, you get these points:

·        1st  round                    1 point

·        2nd round                    2 points

·        3rd round                     3 points

·        4th round                     5 points

·        5th round                     7 points

·        Final Game                10 points

4.      There are no points awarded for Tuesday or Wednesday preliminary games.  If you choose that game, you get the winner of that game for the tournament.

5.      Most total points wins

6.      In case of a tie for total points, the first tiebreaker is whichever tiebreaker team advances the furthest.  If this does not break the tie, then the second tiebreaker  goes to the person who chooses the correct tiebreaker team to win the championship and is closest to the point spread of the championship game.

7.      The tiebreaker is used to decide first, second and third places.

8.      If no person chooses the correct tiebreaker team and no person’s tiebreaker team goes further than any other person’s tiebreaker team, then pool money will be divided for first, second or third place as applicable.

9.      For example, three people tie for most points and have these tiebreakers:

Person 1;       Team Q, 5 points

Person 2        Team Q, 3 points

Person 3        Team T, 2 points

Team Q beats Team R in the championship game by one point.

Person 2 wins, Person 1 is second and Person 3 is third.
